The Water-Cooled Wall of the Residual Heat Removal System is a unique safety component in the world's first pebble-bed modular high-temperature gas-cooled reactor (HTR-PM), embodying the "inherent safety" design philosophy. Its core function is to passively dissipate decay heat from the reactor core into the atmosphere under extreme accident conditions—such as the loss of all active cooling capacity, including main helium circulator stoppage and external power failure—thereby ensuring the integrity of the reactor pressure vessel and complete containment of radioactive materials. Leveraging our extensive experience, our company has innovatively adapted structural solutions from boiler manufacturing to this application. This component serves as the "cardiac stent" of the high-temperature gas-cooled reactor, functioning as the core element of the reactor's internal structure system. Its design and manufacturing challenges represent the pinnacle of HTR technology. Compared with the internal components of pressurized water reactors, it faces fundamentally different difficulties. The materials must withstand significantly higher temperature conditions, while the welding and heat treatment requirements are extremely demanding. Our company has successfully overcome substantial structural challenges and completed the manufacturing and supply of this critical equipment.
