The predecessor of Zhangjiagang Gerui Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd. was Shazhou County Environmental Protection Service Company, a large collective nature of the Environmental Protection Bureau subsidiary company, founded in 1984, and later in 1999 was restructured and renamed Zhangjiagang Gerui Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd.Before the restructuring, the company had nearly 30 employees and an annual sales of about 4 million, specializing in the design and construction of factory wastewater treatment projects.

After more than 10 years of development after the restructuring, Gerui Environment has developed from a single wastewater treatment engineering business to a comprehensive environmental service company with an annual sales of about 200 million.

The company currently has about 150 employees and has established multiple subsidiaries including Zhangjiagang Qingyuan Water Treatment Co., Ltd., Zhangjiagang Qingquan Water Treatment Co., Ltd., Zhangjiagang Heli Energy Development Co., Ltd., Zhangjiagang Jiuxing Solid Waste Disposal Co., Ltd., etc. The business scope covers environmental engineering, wastewater treatment plant operation, general solid waste disposal, hazardous waste collection and storage, environmental protection consulting (environmental protection manager), and other fields.
